Sabot at Stony Point is committed to providing an intellectually rigorous education that nourishes students' curiosity, intelligence, initiative and imagination.

We offer programs for children in Preschool (ages 2 1/2 to 5), Lower School (Kindergarten through Fifth Grade) and Middle School (Sixth through Eighth Grade).

Our educational vision reflects

  • our profound understanding of children, how they develop and learn;
  • our active commitment to implementing best practices to provide educational excellence;
  • and our belief that creativity, critical thinking, emotional intelligence and a global perspective are essential components of a 21st century education.

We regard learning as a collaborative process, where children and teachers work actively together to co-construct knowledge. The arts are integrated into our curriculum, weaving together creative endeavors and other types of learning. Our programs foster the communication and cooperative skills children need to work as part of a team, as well as the cognitive abilities and imagination they need to become independent thinkers.

Our collaborative approach encourages children to find meaning and joy in learning, cultivates respect for all individuals, and nurtures the skills students will need both to be actively rooted in local communities and to flourish in our increasingly global future.
