Sabot at Stony Point has, since the early years of Sabot School, been a place where children translate their innate curiosity and drive into deep engagement with learning and with one another. Sabot is also (and has always been) an educational home for teachers drawn to relationships and practices that are rooted in unifying beliefs about children and learning; based on current neurological and educational research; and reliant on teachers’ collaborative problem solving and creativity. Finally, Sabot parents have long reported that their experience as members of our school community has made them better parents, equipping them with knowledge, perspective, support, and skill for the important and sometimes challenging work of raising young humans. Children, teachers, and parents, together researching our lives and our world; demonstrating that children are often capable of more than we have previously imagined. This is Sabot. This is us.
